Dennis Gabor was a famous physicist.

He was born in Budapest. He later moved to England.

Gabor is best known for inventing holography. This is a way to make 3D pictures. Most pictures only show brightness. But Gabor found a new way. He used the phase of light. The phase is how light waves move. By using both brightness and phase, he could make a full picture.

He first used electrons to do this. Later, people used lasers. A laser is a special light source. This helped make holograms easy to use.

Gabor won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1971. This is a very big prize for science. He also worked on many other things. He studied how people hear. He even thought of a new type of TV screen. He believed we could invent the future. He wrote books about how new tools change our lives. Many places now honor his work. An asteroid is even named after him.
