Danny Kaye was a famous American entertainer. He was a talented actor, singer, dancer, and comedian. People loved him for his physical comedy and his funny facial expressions. Kaye learned how to entertain through many different experiences. As a young man, he toured Asia with a dance group. During a huge typhoon in Osaka, Japan, the hotel lost its power. To keep the audience calm, Kaye used a flashlight to light his face. He sang every song he knew as loudly as possible. This taught him how to use gestures to communicate without words. He even used these funny movements to order food in restaurants.
