A creed is a statement of belief.

It tells what a group holds dear. Many people use these words to show their faith.

Some groups use three main creeds. One is called the Nicene Creed. It was made a long time ago. It helps people share what they believe.

Other groups do not use any creeds. They might only use their holy book. This is called being non-creedal.

In Islam, a similar idea is called aqidah. This word means a bond or a tie. It is a way to stay connected.

People use these words to stay close. They help a group feel like one. It is a way to share a common path.
