life science Maturity 11-13 Next article →

A cramp is a sudden muscle pain. It happens when a muscle pulls tight. It can feel very sharp. This can make it hard to move.

Cramps often happen at night. They can happen in your legs. They can also hit your feet. Some people call them a Charley horse.

Many things can cause them. You might be tired from exercise. You might not have enough water. Some people get them when they are pregnant.

Stretching can help the pain go away. You can also try a massage. A warm bath might feel good too.
