Colour revolutions are a series of protests. They often happen in places like Georgia, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan. These movements aim to build Western-style democracies. Most of these protests start because people believe election results were fake.

Protesters use the internet to talk and plan. They also use groups called non-governmental organizations to help. Some movements have successfully removed a government. For example, the Bulldozer Revolution happened in Yugoslavia in 2000. In that event, protesters used a large machine to reach a building.

Other famous protests include the Rose Revolution in Georgia. There was also the Orange Revolution in Ukraine. In 2005, the Tulip Revolution took place in Kyrgyzstan. In 2018, Armenia had the Velvet Revolution. Some countries, like Russia and China, say the West helps start these changes. However, many people see them as a wave of democracy.
