Another 61,000 people became internally displaced within the country. Some towns, such as Thantlang, were destroyed during the fighting. In response to the conflict, several armed groups have emerged. These include the Chin National Army and the Chin National Defence Force. As of November 2025, these resistance forces hold about 80 percent of the state. They control most of the townships in the region.
