This article covers sensitive topics: religion. Parents can manage visibility in Parental Controls.

Long ago in India, people had a new idea. They called it Charvaka. Some people think a man named Brihaspati started it. They believed we should trust what we see and feel. This is called perception.

Sometimes we guess things. We might see smoke and guess there is a fire. Charvaka thinkers said we must be careful. Our guesses might be wrong.

They did not believe in things we cannot see. They did not believe in a soul or rebirth. They thought we should focus on this world.

Many people in India used these ideas. They helped other thinkers ask big questions. It was a way to look at the world.
