On that same night, she independently found Messier 110, which is a companion to the Andromeda Galaxy. Between 1786 and 1797, she discovered eight comets. One of these was the periodic comet 35P/Herschel–Rigollet, which still bears her name today. She also rediscovered Comet Encke in 1795. Her ability to find these objects proved her skill as an independent observer.
