technology Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Running a business is a big job. People call this business administration. It is a way to oversee a company. It helps a group reach its goals. Managers must organize people and tools. They also make important choices.

A man named Henri Fayol wrote about this. He said there are five parts to management. These are planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating, and controlling. Without these parts, a firm cannot use its resources well.

Good managers need many skills. They must be leaders. They must solve problems and talk well to others. They also balance the needs of many people. These people are called stakeholders. This group includes workers, customers, and even the local community.

People can study this in school. A Bachelor of Business Administration is a four-year degree in the United States. Some people get a higher degree called an MBA. This stands for Master of Business Administration. It focuses on management. This degree started in the United States a long time ago. It helps people learn about money and marketing. Other people study even more to become professors.
