Many people use a special calendar.

It follows both the moon and the sun. This is called a lunisolar calendar. It helps people know when to have big festivals.

Some people use it for religious days. It is used in many lands like Thailand and Vietnam. It is also used in places like India and Sri Lanka.

One way it works is by using months. Some months have 29 days. Other months have 30 days. This helps the moon stay in line with the sun.

In some places, years have animal names. You might have a year of the Rat or the Ox. This makes tracking time very fun!
