Your body has a way to stop bleeding. This way is called hemostasis. To help, your blood has tiny parts called platelets. These platelets make a plug to stop the leak. They also help make a blood clot.

Some things can make bleeding harder to stop. Certain medicines, like aspirin, can stop platelets from working well. Other medicines can lower the amount of Vitamin K in your body. Your body needs Vitamin K to make clotting factors. These factors are parts that help the blood clot.

Doctors use different ways to see bleeding. They might use special scans to look at the brain.
