Biocentrism (ethics)

philosophy religion Maturity 13-18 Next article →

Some people believe all life is equal. This idea is called biocentrism.

It means plants and animals have value too. They have the same right to live as humans.

We are all part of one big group. All living things depend on each other. If we hurt nature, we hurt ourselves too.

Many religions teach this idea. In Islam, people believe all life praises God. In Hinduism, people believe all things have souls.

Some places even have laws to protect nature. These laws help keep the earth safe. It is a way to show respect to all life.
