Being and Time

philosophy religion Maturity 9-11 Next article →

A man named Martin Heidegger wrote a big book. It is called Being and Time. He wrote it in 1927.

The book asks what it means to be human. He used a new word, Dasein. This word means "being there."

He said we cannot be split from the world. We are always part of it. This is like being in a room.

He also wrote about time. He thought death helps us understand time. This is because our lives end.

His ideas changed how many people think. People still study his big ideas today.
