Napoleon tried to use rivers to help his plan. He hoped to move troops quickly between sectors. However, the Coalition followed a smart plan. They fought the leaders of the French army. This made the French side weaker.

In the end, Napoleon lost the battle. He had to go back to France. Soon after, he had to give up his power. He was sent away to a place called Elba.
