Asiya was a very important woman in history. Many people know her from the Qur'an. She was the wife of the Pharaoh. She was also the mother of Moses.

One day, Asiya and her maids found a crate in the Nile river. They pulled it to the shore. They thought they found treasure. Instead, they found a baby boy named Moses. Asiya felt great love for him. She helped him grow up in her home. She even found a nurse for him. This nurse was actually Moses's own mother.

Asiya had much wealth. But she was not proud like her husband. She believed in one God. She kept this belief a secret. Later, she saw a miracle from Moses. This led her to follow his faith. The Pharaoh found out about her belief. He wanted her to change her mind. Asiya refused to turn away from God. Because of this, the Pharaoh ordered her death.

Muslims consider Asiya a very great woman. She is one of the four best women ever. Some say she will be in Paradise. She is a special example for all people.
