People who follow this faith are called Anglicans. In some countries, they are known as Episcopalians. This group is part of the Anglican Communion. It is the third-largest Christian communion in the world. As of 2025, there are about 110 million members in the Communion. There are also over 400,000 people outside of it. Many members belong to national or regional provinces. These provinces stay connected to the See of Canterbury. The archbishop of Canterbury is a key leader here.

Anglicans follow a specific way of believing and praying. They base their faith on the Bible and the Gospels. They also look to the traditions of the early church. They value the writings of the Church Fathers. Some thinkers use reason to help understand these things. This idea was described in detail by Richard Hooker.
