Anaxagoras was a wise man.

Jose de Ribera - Anaxagoras
Jose de Ribera - Anaxagoras

He lived in Greece a long time ago. He had many big ideas about the world.

He thought a great Mind moved everything. This Mind helped make things stay in order. He also thought life was everywhere in space.

He looked closely at the sky. He said the Sun was a huge, hot mass. He also said the Moon reflects light from the Sun.

He even explained why eclipses happen. He thought the Earth was flat. He believed air helped hold it up.

People remembered him for a long time. They even had a special day to honor him.
