physical science Maturity 11-13 Next article →

We use a special way to measure charge. It tells us how much power a battery holds.

This measure is called an amp-hour. It counts how much electricity flows over time.

A small battery for a toy might have a little charge. A smartphone battery holds more.

Even a big car battery holds much more charge. This helps the car start its engine.

Some tools use a tiny version of this. It is called a milliamp-hour. It is one thousand times smaller. This helps us measure small things easily.
