He later demonstrated his skill during the War of the Bar Confederation. In this conflict, he captured Kraków and won several victories at Orzechowo and Lanckorona. These early successes began to build his reputation as a capable leader.

His fame grew significantly during the Russo-Turkish War of 1768–1774. Suvorov captured Turtukaya twice and achieved a decisive victory at Kozludzha.

He was later promoted to general and led forces in the Russo-Turkish War of 1787–1792. During this period, he participated in the siege of Ochakov and won victories at Kinburn and Focșani. His decisive victory at the Battle of Rymnik established him as a brilliant general. He also led a successful storming of Izmail against Ottoman forces. These victories made him one of the most respected military figures in Europe.

In 1794, Suvorov played a key role in suppressing the Polish uprising. He achieved success at the battle of Praga and in other locations.

After the death of Catherine the Great in 1796, Suvorov faced difficulties with the new leader, Paul I. However, he was eventually recalled to the rank of field marshal. Masséna was so impressed that he reportedly said he would exchange all his victories for Suvorov's passage through the Alps.

Suvorov's successful campaign in Switzerland earned him the promotion to generalissimo. This is the highest military rank. He remained a highly respected figure among his soldiers. They admired him for his honesty and his truthful service. Suvorov died of an illness in Saint Petersburg in 1800. He is still studied today as a master of military science. His ability to succeed despite a lack of resources remains a notable part of his legacy.
