Wolfgang Pauli was a famous physicist.

He studied how the smallest parts of our world work. This field is called quantum mechanics.

Pauli found a very important rule. It is called the exclusion principle. This rule says that two electrons cannot be in the same state. This helps us understand how matter is built.

He also helped find a tiny particle. He thought it must exist to explain how energy works in some decays. This particle is called a neutrino. Scientists did not find it until 1956.

Pauli was a very strict thinker. Other scientists called him the "conscience of physics." He would tell people if their ideas were wrong. He once said some ideas were "not even wrong." This meant they could not even be tested by science.

In 1945, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics.

He also worked with a thinker named Carl Jung. They talked about dreams and science together.
