WAsP is a computer program for wind. It helps people find wind power. This program can predict wind climates. A wind climate is how wind moves in an area. It also predicts how much power wind turbines can make.

To work, it uses data from weather stations. It can also use models to study the wind. The program looks at many things. It studies how hills change wind flow. It looks at how trees or buildings block the wind. It even studies the wake from a turbine. A wake is the air left behind a moving turbine.

There are special tools inside the program. The Map Editor helps people make maps of the land. The Turbine Editor helps people add details about turbines. People use these tools to find the best spots for wind farms. This is called micro-siting. A special version of this tool maps the whole world. This is called the Global Wind Atlas. It shows wind data for every 250 meters. DTU Wind and Energy Systems in Denmark made this program.
