Some vines climb up things to find light. They use rocks or other plants to help them grow. This saves the plant energy.

Vines use many ways to climb. Some wrap their stems around a pole. Others use little curly arms called tendrils. These arms grab onto things. Some even use tiny roots to stick to walls.

Some vines stay low on the ground. They can spread out to cover a large area. This helps them find good soil.

Most vines have pretty flowers. Some are soft and green. Others are woody and hard. It is fun to see how they grow!
