It tells a story about a fake island. The island is named Utopia. Its name means "nowhere."

People on the island share everything. They do not have their own things. They keep goods in big warehouses. People take only what they need.

Everyone on the island must work. Men and women both farm the land. They also learn trades like weaving. This helps everyone have enough food.

People work only six hours a day. This gives them time to learn. They also have time to rest. They find joy in learning new things.

This book shows a very different way to live. It makes us think about our own world.
