Viola falls in love with Duke Orsino. Orsino loves a lady named Olivia. Then, Olivia falls in love with Viola! Because Viola is in disguise, Olivia thinks she is a man.

Other characters also play tricks. A group of friends tricks a man named Malvolio. They use a fake love letter to fool him. They want him to wear yellow stockings.

This makes Malvolio look silly to others. The play is set in a place called Illyria. It is a land of music and romance. In the end, the twins find each other. The confusion is solved, and many characters marry.
