Tertiary source

language culture Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Some books and sites help us find facts. They collect many ideas in one place. These are called tertiary sources.

They do not add new thoughts. They just summarize what is known. They help us find key terms. They can also help find other books.

You can find them in books. Many are in order by letters. You can also find them online. Then you can search with words.

Some examples are dictionaries. You might use a textbook or a guide. Even Wikipedia is a tertiary source.

They make it easy to see the big picture. They are great tools for learning.
