The design of the 76.2 mm F-34 gun was reduced from 861 parts to 614 parts. In early 1944, the Soviets introduced the T-34-85. This variant featured a much larger and more powerful gun. This upgrade helped the tank stay effective as the war continued.
The T-34 had a lasting impact on the history of technology. Its design led directly to the T-44 and the T-54 and T-55 series. These later tanks became the armored core for many modern armies.
