Summerhill School

society Maturity 5-7 Next article →

A man named A.S. Neill started a school.

He wanted kids to feel free. At this school, kids choose their own lessons. They do not have to go to class if they do not want to.

Everyone helps make the rules. Both kids and grown-ups have a vote. They meet to talk about the school. This is called a democracy.

People can do what they like. But they must not hurt others. This keeps the school a kind place.

It is a very special way to learn.
