geography Maturity 7-9 Next article →

The Solomon Islands are many islands in the sea. They sit near Australia in the Pacific Ocean. Some islands are part of Papua New Guinea. Other islands are part of the Solomon Islands.

There are over 1,000 islands in this group. Some are flat and made of coral. Other islands have big, tall mountains. Some of these islands even have volcanoes.

It is very warm and wet there. The big ocean keeps the air from changing too much. Many green forests grow on the land.

The sea is full of life. You can see many kinds of coral. There are also many colorful reef fish.
