Skanderbeg was a brave leader. 
Long ago, a man named Skanderbeg lived in Albania. 
He was sent to live at a far court. There, he went to a special school. He learned how to be a leader. 
Later, he went home to lead his people. He brought many leaders together to help him. This helped make his land strong.
He fought many battles to protect his home. He was a very good leader in war.
Today, people in Albania call him a hero. They still remember him with many statues.
Gjergj Kastrioti was a great leader from Albania. 
As a young man, Gjergj was sent to the Ottoman court. This was to serve as a hostage. This helped the Sultan keep control of his land. Gjergj went to the Enderun School. There, he learned how to be a military leader. 
In 1443, Gjergj left the Ottoman service. He returned home to lead his people. In 1444, he started the League of Lezhë. This group brought many local leaders together. They worked to keep Albania free.
Gjergj was a very skilled fighter. He fought many wars against the Ottoman Empire. He was a very strong opponent for them. He led his people until he died in 1468. Today, Skanderbeg is the national hero of Albania. People honor him with many statues and works of art.
