Sirloin steak

language culture Maturity 5-7 Next article →

A sirloin is a cut of meat. It comes from the cow.

In America, this meat comes from the back. There are two main kinds. The top part is very soft. This is the best part to eat.

The bottom part is much larger. It is not as soft. Some people call it rump steak. This name is used in other lands.

In those lands, the name means something else. People there use it for different cuts. They call the T-bone a sirloin too.

The name comes from old words. They mean "above the loin." It is a tasty meal to cook.
