Beyond physics, the concept of a shadow appears in many other fields. In meteorology, a "rain shadow" is a dry area located behind a mountain range that blocks rainclouds. In acoustics, an "acoustic shadow" occurs when a direct sound is blocked or diverted. Even in art, techniques like chiaroscuro and silhouette use shadow to create depth.
