She is widely considered a defining voice in Philippine pop music. Many people call her the "Popstar Royalty" or the "Ultimate Pop Superstar." These titles reflect her massive impact on Pinoy pop culture. She is known for her vocal versatility and her ability to perform many different musical genres. In 2025, she took a major step in her career by launching G Music. This is her own independent record label. This move marks her evolution into a creative leader within the music industry.

Her musical training began at a very young age under the guidance of her father, Delfin. He served as her first vocal coach and used unique methods to help her. Inspired by the training of singer Regine Velasquez, her father had her sing while submerged in a water drum. This practice was intended to strengthen her windpipe. Geronimo began performing for crowds when she was only two years old. By the age of four, she was already appearing as a cast member on television shows. She even performed at World Youth Day as a young musical performer.

Her path to professional stardom was defined by persistence.

While attending high school, she entered a reality television singing contest called Star for a Night. This show was based on a British talent competition. Geronimo did not succeed immediately; she actually auditioned for the contest three separate times. She finally won the competition on March 1, 2003, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. Her winning performance was a cover of "To Love You More" by Celine Dion. This victory led to a record deal with Viva Records.

Her debut studio album, Popstar: A Dream Come True, became a massive commercial phenomenon. It is widely regarded as the best-selling debut album of all time in the Philippines. The album also holds the record for the longest number one charting album in the country. It sold over 300,000 units and earned a 5× platinum certification. Following this success, she released Sweet Sixteen in 2005, which was certified 2× platinum. Throughout her career, she has released many other significant albums. These include Becoming (2006), Taking Flight (2007), and One Heart (2011).

As her career progressed, Geronimo began to take more control over her creative output. In 2013, she released and produced her tenth studio album, Expressions. This album celebrated her ten-year career milestone. The lead single, "Ikot-Ikot," incorporated drum beats and elements of electronic dance music, also known as EDM.
