It started in Chile in 1962. A man named Don Francisco hosted the show. He wanted to mix many different programs into one. This made the show very exciting for viewers. It became the longest-running variety show in the world.

The show had many fun parts. In one game, people sang songs. A character named El Chacal de la Trompeta would blow a trumpet. He stopped people who sang poorly. This character looked like a ghost. He used a trumpet instead of an axe.
