Most of its history is very long ago. This time is called the Precambrian. It covers almost all of Earth's life.

At first, the world was new. A big hit from a planet may have made the Moon. Later, the Earth grew a hard skin. We see this in tiny crystals.

Life started a long time ago. Tiny living things lived in the water. They made the air we breathe. This changed the world.

Sometimes, the Earth got very cold. It may have even turned into a snowball. Big pieces of land also moved together.

These pieces made one giant land. We call this land Rodinia. It is amazing to think about our old home!
