The total project includes 2.4 km of new berths and new supporting infrastructure. The new port will be built on reclaimed land extending seaward from the existing site. This expansion aims to multiply the total capacity by more than seven times. If successful, it will become the world's largest container port, surpassing Shanghai and Singapore.
