Later, the Elliot family loses much of their money. They must move to the city of Bath. This move brings Anne and Wentworth back together. Wentworth is now a wealthy captain. He has gained money from his work at sea.

Anne still loves him. She must deal with very strong feelings. During a trip to Lyme Regis, a woman named Louisa has an accident. Anne stays calm and helps. This shows Wentworth how wise and strong Anne is. Eventually, Wentworth writes Anne a note. He tells her he still loves her. They decide to marry. This book shows that love can find a second chance.
