Long ago, people fought about religion. They made a new rule to help. A leader could choose how to pray. This rule was called the Peace of Augsburg.

Leaders could pick one way to pray. They could pick to be Catholic. They could also pick to be Lutheran.

People had to follow their leader. Some people did not want to. They could move to a new land.

This rule helped stop some fighting. It made things calm for a while.

But the rule did not help everyone. Some groups were not included. This led to more fighting later.
