Paulo Freire (1963)

When he was young, he was often hungry. This made it hard for him to learn in school. He wanted to help poor people learn too.

He taught many people how to read and write. He once helped 300 workers learn in 45 days. This was a very big success.

He wrote books about how to teach. He believed students should be active in class. He did not want them to just sit and listen.

His ideas helped people all over the world. Many teachers still use his ways today. It is good to help others learn.
