Before Newton, many people thought white light was pure. They thought color only happened when light hit dark things. Newton proved this was wrong. He showed that white light is actually made of many colors. He found seven colors in the light. These are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. He used a prism to show this. A prism is a piece of glass that bends light. Each color bends at a different angle. This is called refraction. Newton also wrote many questions at the end of his book. He called these queries. These questions were about many things. He asked about heat, gravity, and even how chemicals react. His work helped change how we understand the physical world.
