Olympia is a famous documentary film. A documentary is a movie that shows real events. This film shows the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. Leni Riefenstahl was the director. She made the film in two parts. The first part is called "Festival of Nations." The second part is called "Festival of Beauty."

Riefenstahl used many new ways to film the games. These ways changed how people film sports today. She used cameras on balloons to get high views. She even used a camera under the water. This camera followed divers as they hit the water. She also used many different camera angles. These helped show the skill of the athletes.

The film is controversial. This means people have strong, different feelings about it. The Nazi government paid for the film. They wanted to use it as propaganda. Propaganda is a way to spread a certain message. Even so, many people admire her film skills. It has appeared on lists of the best movies ever made. It even won a gold medal from the Olympic Committee.
