Naser Orić was a leader in Srebrenica. This is a town in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the Bosnian War in the 1990s, he led local forces. He was a commander for the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Srebrenica was a very important place during the war. Serb forces surrounded the area. This made life very hard for the people living there. There was not enough food or clean water. In 1993, the United Nations called Srebrenica a safe area.

Later, a court in the Netherlands looked at Orić's actions. They looked at how people were treated during the fight. In 2006, a court said he was responsible for some harm. They gave him a sentence of two years in prison. However, a higher court changed this decision in 2008. They said there was not enough proof to hold him responsible. They cleared him of all charges. A Bosnian court also cleared him in 2018. He is known for his role as a commander during the war.
