Early mobile games were quite simple. In 1997, Nokia released a game called Snake. It was on 350 million devices. Later, app stores changed how we play. The Apple App Store arrived in 2008. It made it easy to find new games. Now, mobile gaming is the biggest part of the game industry. It made up 49% of all game money in 2025.

There are different ways to pay for games. Some games are premium. This means you pay for the whole game at once. Other games use a "freemium" model. These games are free to try. You can pay to unlock more of the game. Some games are free-to-play. They might use "stamina" to limit how much you play. You can buy items to get more energy.
