This article covers sensitive topics: mythology. Parents can manage visibility in Parental Controls.

Mimesis is a word for copying. It comes from an old Greek word. It means to act like someone else.

Long ago, thinkers had different ideas. Plato thought art was just a copy. He said a bed made by a man is a copy. An artist who paints that bed copies the man. This makes the art far from the truth.

Aristotle had a different view. He said people love to copy. He thought art helps us learn. It can show us how life works.

Some people use it for stories. They want stories to feel real. This is called realism. It helps us see the world as it is.

Do you like to act or draw? You are using mimesis too!
