Some animals hunt other animals.

Lotka Volterra dynamics
Lotka Volterra dynamics

One animal is the hunter. One animal is the food. They live in a big loop.

When food is many, hunters grow.

When food is few, hunters go away. This is a pattern.

Two men found this pattern. Alfred Lotka and Vito Volterra did. They used math to show it.

It works for many things. It can show how fish live in the sea. It can even show how markets work.

Math helps us see how nature stays in balance.
