Paul Stanley was the Starchild. Gene Simmons was the Demon. Ace Frehley was the Spaceman. Peter Criss was the Catman. Their live shows were huge spectacles. They used fire and smoke to excite the crowd. Members would breathe fire or spit fake blood. One guitar would even burst into flames.

In 1983, the band began an "unmasked" era. This meant they performed without makeup. They later reunited with their original makeup in 1996. This reunion tour was their most successful. Kiss has sold many albums. They have 30 Gold albums. They also have 14 Platinum albums. In 2014, the original members joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band played its final show in 2023.
