Khadija Ismayilova is a reporter from Azerbaijan. She works for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. She tells true stories about money and power.

Khadija writes about corruption. Corruption is when people in power use money in a dishonest way. She wrote stories about the family of President Ilham Aliyev. She found out they owned many big businesses. She also found out they owned houses in other countries.

Some leaders did not like her work. In 2014, they arrested her. In 2015, a court sent her to prison for seven and a half years. They said she broke tax laws, but many groups thought this was unfair. In 2012, people also tried to blackmail her with private videos. Khadija did not let them stop her.

She is a very brave person. In 2017, she won the Right Livelihood Award. Some people call this the "Alternative Nobel Prize." It was for her courage in telling the truth. She wanted to make sure the government was honest with its people.
