Ibn Battuta was a great traveler from Tangier. 
He traveled more than almost any other explorer. He visited parts of Africa and Asia. He even saw the Great Wall of China. 


Near the end of his life, he told his stories. He dictated a book called the Rihla. This book is a record of his long trips. His stories help us learn about the old world. He is known as one of the greatest travelers of all time.
Ibn Battuta was a famous traveler and scholar from the past. 
His great journey began in 1325 when he was 21 years old. 
Ibn Battuta visited many different lands and cultures. 

His travels covered a huge amount of distance. 
At the end of his life, he shared his stories.

In 1326, he arrived at the port of Alexandria in the Mamluk empire.
After his pilgrimage, he explored much of the Middle East and Iran. In late 1326, he joined a caravan heading toward Iraq. He visited the mausoleum of Ali in Najaf. He then took a six-month detour into Iran to visit cities like Isfahan and Shiraz. 
Ibn Battuta also traveled extensively along the African coast. 

His travels covered an incredible amount of distance. 
Near the end of his life, he shared his experiences through writing.
