In Paris, Xenakis began working in the architectural studio of Le Corbusier. He started as an engineering assistant and eventually became a key collaborator. He worked on projects like the Unité d'Habitation in Nantes-Rezé and the Sainte-Marie de La Tourette priory. One of his most famous solo achievements was the Philips Pavilion for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair. 
His musical development was also shaped by his studies with the composer Olivier Messiaen. While other teachers rejected his experimental style, Messiaen encouraged him to use his unique background. Messiaen told him to use his knowledge of architecture and mathematics in his music. This advice helped Xenakis bridge the gap between different scientific and artistic fields. He spent his life integrating these disciplines, designing music for specific spaces and designing spaces for specific music. His legacy remains a powerful example of how math, science, and art can merge into one experience.
