This contradicted the idea of weak jaws, though they still thought the animals might eat some water plants. Later, researchers like Peter Dodson and Michael K. Brett-Surman made significant changes to how we classify these dinosaurs. In 1979, John R. Horner named the famous genus Maiasaura. The study of these animals has become even more intense in the 21st century. 
Today, hadrosaur research is more prolific than ever before. In 2011, the International Hadrosaur Symposium was held at the Royal Tyrrell Museum to discuss ongoing studies. This led to the 2015 publication of the book "Hadrosaurs," edited by David A. Eberth and David C. Evans. Data shows that the 21st century has seen over two hundred papers published on the topic. The internet has acted as a catalyst for this massive boom in scientific communication. Modern research now looks at diverse subjects like growth, phylogeny, and biogeography.
