Some parts of space are good for life.

These spots have the right stuff. They are not too crowded. They are also not too wild. This helps life grow and stay safe.

Planets need certain parts to form. They need things like iron and carbon. These parts are found in some areas. But too many of them can be bad. Too many big gas planets can bump others.

Some areas are too dangerous. Big star deaths can hurt life. These deaths send out huge blasts. These blasts can wipe out life for a long time.

Being too close to the center is risky. There are too many big blasts there. Being too far away is also hard. There are not enough parts to make planets.

Our Sun is in a good spot. It is in a safe ring. This ring is called a zone.
